We are a ‘micro-roastery’ in Basel. We have been in the coffee business for over 5 years, and with our own beloved brand ‘’Bean in Progress’ for over a year. Yes, we are a start-up! 

Our philosophy is simple: go for progress, not perfection! We know that the best coffee doesn’t exist. However, we can promise that our beans are always in progress and we provide you with tasty and special coffee. At Bean in Progress we stand for progress both in the sourcing of coffee beans and in the roasting process. It is a great concern for us to provide our customers with high-quality coffee! Our passion and philosophy are not only visible in our coffee but also in our service. All of our products can be tasted and bought at local markets and ordered online.

Responsibilities:

You will be fully responsible for our brand’s marketing and sales activities (online and offline ) 

Focus on increasing our customer base with business development activities. You are expected to drive below topics:

  • Offline activities:
    • Focusing on the B2B sector actively promoting our products to businesses (especially to hotels, retail shops & restaurants, cafes, supermarket chains etc)
    • Organizing meetings with potential customers and driving these meetings independently.
    • Following relevant events and fairs and promoting our company in those events.
    • End to end management of our marketing & sales budget.
  • Online Channels:
    • We have a social media/digital agency in place. In partnership with that agency you will be:
      • Managing our digital agency making sure our website and social media channels are up and running smoothly.
      • Keeping our website up to date and manage the relationship with external parties
      • Actively direct and follow the work on our social media channels including, but not limited to postings, campaigns, live events with an aim to increase our reach.
      • Making sure our web shop is running smoothly and we have seamless processes in place. 

Qualifications & skills needed

  • Fluent in English and Swiss German, French is a plus
  • Passionate about coffee or passionate to learn about it
  • Social media channel management experience (personal/professional)
  • Great marketing, communication and sales skills (with track record)
  • Self-starter who can work independently and who is willing to grow a start-up.
  • Sales and marketing experience (preferably in a similar industry)
  • Experience in gastronomy business

Compensation:

You will be offered a base salary and also a percentage from sales that you drive.
