Description

Finca Nueve Aguas, named for the nine natural springs flowing through its land, is situated in the lush Nuboso Forest of Purulhá, Baja Verapaz. This region’s volcanic soils, high altitudes, and misty microclimates make it ideal for growing specialty coffee with complex and vibrant flavor profiles. At elevations of 1,200 to 1,600 meters, the farm produces the Sarchimor variety, known for its resilience and ability to deliver outstanding quality when carefully cultivated. Using the washed process, Finca Nueve Aguas highlights the bright, clean flavors of the beans, balancing sweetness and acidity in every cup. The result is a coffee that reflects the harmony of its natural environment and the precision of its producers. Owned and managed by Waldemar and Crista Schwendener, the farm operates with a deep commitment to sustainability and community support. Beyond coffee cultivation, it provides local families with housing, clean water access, and land for their own crops. The farm also played a key role in establishing the first school in the nearby village of Panzal, now Santa Rita, underscoring its dedication to the region’s future. This coffee showcases the care, expertise, and rich heritage of its origin, offering a true taste of Baja Verapaz’s exceptional potential.
